Does Oja POS work offline?

Yes! Oja POS is built offline-first. You can record sales, manage inventory, track profit, and do everything else without any internet connection. No light? No data? No wahala — your business keeps running. When you're back online, your data syncs automatically if you have cloud backup enabled.

How much does Oja POS cost?

Oja POS has three plans. The Starter plan is completely free — forever. It includes unlimited sales, up to 50 products, basic reports, WhatsApp receipts, offline mode, credit book, and 1 staff account. The Growth plan costs ₦2,500 per month and adds unlimited products, advanced reports with charts, and cloud backup & sync. The Business plan costs ₦5,000 per month and adds unlimited staff accounts, payroll management, low stock WhatsApp alerts, receipt printer support, and priority support.

What payment methods does Oja POS support?

Oja POS supports three payment methods: Cash, Bank Transfer, and POS terminal. You can track each payment method separately and see a detailed breakdown in your reports. You can also split payments across multiple methods for a single transaction — for example, part cash and part transfer.

Is Oja POS available on Android and iOS?

Oja POS is a web app (PWA) that works on any device with a browser — Android phones, iPhones, tablets, laptops, and desktop computers. You can add it to your home screen for a native app experience. No download from app stores required — just visit app.ojapos.app and start using it.

How do I get started?

Getting started takes less than 2 minutes. Visit app.ojapos.app, enter your shop name and phone number, and you're ready to sell. You can add products manually, scan barcodes with your phone camera, or start with our pre-loaded catalog of common Nigerian retail products.

Is my data safe?

Absolutely. Your data is stored locally on your device first (offline-first architecture). If you enable cloud backup on the Business plan, your data is encrypted and stored securely on Supabase servers. We never sell your data to anyone — not advertisers, not data brokers, nobody. We comply with Nigerian data protection regulations (NDPR/NDPA).

Can I use Oja POS on multiple devices?

Yes! With the Business plan's cloud sync feature, you can use Oja POS on multiple devices. Your data syncs across all devices in real-time when connected to the internet. This is great if you have a phone at the counter and want to check reports on your laptop. On the free Starter plan, data is stored locally on one device.

What is Credit Intelligence?

Credit Intelligence upgrades the traditional credit book with smart risk scoring. Every customer who owes you gets a color-coded risk level (green → yellow → orange → red) based on how long they've owed and their payment history. You get automatic overdue alerts, can freeze credit for risky customers so they can't buy on credit until they pay, and send WhatsApp payment reminders that get firmer the longer they owe. It's not just tracking debt — it's helping you collect it.

How do WhatsApp receipts work?

After completing a sale, you can share a professional, branded receipt with your customer via WhatsApp with one tap. The receipt includes your business name, items purchased, prices, payment method, and date. It uses WhatsApp's built-in sharing feature directly from your phone — no extra setup or configuration needed. Customers love it!

Can I add staff members?

Yes! On the free Starter plan, you get 1 staff account. On the Business plan, you can add unlimited staff members. Each staff member gets their own PIN code and role (cashier, manager, etc.). You can control what each person can see and do, and track their individual sales performance. Perfect for business owners who aren't always at the counter.

What reports can I get?

On the free plan, you get daily sales summaries with total revenue, profit, and transaction count. On the Business plan, you unlock advanced reports including: daily/weekly/monthly breakdowns, top-selling products, payment method analysis, profit margins, busiest hours, staff performance reports, and visual trend charts. Everything you need to make smarter business decisions.

How do I upgrade to the Business plan?

You can upgrade directly within the app, or contact us on WhatsApp at +234 802 247 1137. We accept bank transfer and other payment methods. You can also start with a free trial of the Business plan to see if it's right for you before committing.

Do I need internet to use Oja POS?

No! Oja POS works completely offline. You only need internet for three things: initial setup (first time only), cloud backup sync (Business plan), and sending WhatsApp receipts. All core POS functions — selling, inventory management, profit tracking, credit book — work perfectly without any internet connection.

Can I print receipts?

Yes! The Business plan supports Bluetooth thermal receipt printers (both 58mm and 80mm sizes). You can print professional receipts for customers who prefer physical copies. On any plan, you can also share receipts via WhatsApp — no printer needed at all.

What products are pre-loaded?

Oja POS comes with a catalog of common Nigerian retail products pre-loaded — including popular grocery items, soft drinks, household goods, toiletries, and more, all with typical market prices in Naira. You can use these as starting points and customize the prices for your business, or skip them entirely and add your own products from scratch.

Can I scan barcodes?

Yes! Oja POS uses your phone's camera to scan product barcodes. When you scan a barcode, it instantly looks up the product in your inventory for quick checkout. You can also assign barcodes to your own products. It works with Nigerian and international barcodes — no external scanner hardware needed.

What is the WhatsApp Storefront?

The WhatsApp Storefront is a free feature that lets you share your product catalog as a link on WhatsApp. Your customers can browse your products with prices and tap to order — it opens a WhatsApp chat with a pre-filled order message. Think of it as your own online shop that lives on WhatsApp. No website or technical knowledge needed — just enable it in the app, pick your products, and share the link on your WhatsApp Status or to customers directly.
